What are boys and girls in Israel supposed to know, understand, and be able to do in the field of social-emotional skills according to their age and the developmental stage? And how can knowledge be developed in a systematic and research-based way in a field that is still in its infancy in Israel? A new article presents the story of a large-scale action research initiative, which was conducted over three years, during which structured developmental knowledge in the field of SEL was developed for the first time in Israel. The development process, which was performed in close partnership with dozens of educators from the field, combined research, practice, and joint contemplation in order to lay innovative professional infrastructure for social-emotional learning in Israel.
