Dr. Daphne Kopelman-Rubin is the founder and head of the SEL.IL Center for Promoting Social-Emotional Learning at the Baruch Ivcher School of Psychology at Reichman University in Herzliya, Israel. An educational psychologist, she focuses on applied research. Among other activities, she initiated and developed the I Can Succeed (ICS) program which trains educators to cultivate social-emotional learning skills in their students, from preschool through high school. In recent years, she has focused on systemic, research-based SEL development processes, such as articulating SEL developmental standards, city- or town-wide SEL implementation, and creating a suite of assessment and measurement tools for SEL skills. Previously, she established the Learning Disabilities Clinic at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel, directing the clinic for a decade. At the clinic, she spearheaded the development of interpersonal psychotherapy for adolescents with learning and attention disorders (IPTA-LD). Over the years, she has served as a member of various committees, such as the consensus committee on Social Emotional Learning in Schools of the Initiative for Applied Education Research at the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities as well as the Israeli Ministry of Education’s Margalit Committee II to formulate policy guidelines for treating students with learning disabilities. More recently, she has served as a board member of the SEL Challenge competition and a member of the editorial board of the journal Social Emotional Learning: Research, Practice, and Policy.

Prof. Laura Mufson is a professor of medical psychology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) and the associate director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. She also is co-director of the Office of Clinical Psychology at CUIMC and the director of clinical psychology at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. She is the developer of the adaptation of interpersonal psychotherapy for adolescent depression (IPT-A) and is an expert international trainer in IPT-A. Prof. Mufson has had an active research career, studying the efficacy and effectiveness of evidence-based psychotherapies for children and adolescents. She has been the principal investigator, co-investigator, and/or consultant with colleagues on numerous grants studying adaptations of IPT-A to be delivered in schools, primary care clinics, and community clinics. She is an author of three books on interpersonal psychotherapy and the author of numerous publications on adolescent depression, interpersonal psychotherapy, and clinical interventions for social anxiety and depression in adolescents delivered in community settings. Prof. Mufson is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and Division 53, the Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.

Prof. Anat Brunstein-Klomek is a licensed clinical psychologist whose areas of expertise include CBT and IPT. She is the dean of the Baruch Ivcher School of Psychology at Reichman University (IDC Herzliya). Over the years, she teamed up with Dr. Daphne Kopelman-Rubin and Prof. Laura Mufson to develop interpersonal psychotherapy for adolescents with learning and attention disorders (IPTA-LD). She also has been a partner in the research and development of the I Can Succeed (ICS) program. She completed postdoctoral studies in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University in New York and continues to serve as a visiting researcher there to this day. She performed her clinical residency at the psychology department at Schneider Children’s Medical Center in Israel. In recent years, she has served as the academic advisor for the national program for suicide prevention of the Israeli ministries of health and education. Since 2007, she has served as the assistant editor of Archives of Suicide Research and she recently was appointed a member of the editorial board of Lancet Psychiatry. Her primary research interests include depression, suicide, bullying/cyberbullying, interpersonal psychotherapy, learning disorders/ADHD, and eating disorders.

Prof. Mark Greenberg is the Emeritus Bennett Chair of Prevention Science in Penn State’s College of Health and Human Development. He also is the founding director of the Prevention Research Center for the Promotion of Human Development. He is the author of over 350 journal articles and book chapters on the development of well-being, learning, and the effects of prevention efforts on children and families. He is a founding board member of the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL). He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Urie Bronfenbrenner Award for Lifetime Contribution to Developmental Psychology in the Service of Science and Society from the American Psychological Association (2016). One of his current interests is how to help nurture awareness and compassion in our society. He is the chairperson of the Board of CREATE, a non-profit devoted to improving the quality of schooling and the lives of teachers and students.

Dr. Einat Kleider Tesler leads the partnership to introduce culturally appropriate, inclusive SEL in Nahariya as well as the SEL.box project to develop SEL evaluation and measuring tools. She also is involved in training educators in the I Can Succeed (ICS) program and developing and implementing SEL pedagogy. She earned a PhD in the learning disabilities department at the University of Haifa. Her PhD research explored the connection between metacognitive and emotional processes and text comprehension as well as interventions to facilitate this. She also is an expert on diagnosing and treating learning disabilities (particularly in preschool children) and is a lecturer and pedagogic counselor at Beit Berl College in special education and learning disabilities.

Orit Arnon earned a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree (with a thesis) in modern history at Bar-Ilan University. She is an alumna of the Educational Leadership Institute and the Zamarot program at the Avney Rosha Institute.
She mentors future and new principals and lectures in the residency and teaching course at the Kibbutzim College of Education, Technology and the Arts. She was the founding principal of the Zukey Aviv School in Tel Aviv, a groundbreaking school built on SEL skills and multiple intelligences.

Adi Shtrul earned a master’s degree in social psychology at Reichman University (IDC Herzliya). She graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s supplemental studies program in educational psychology. She currently is performing her residency at the educational psychology services in the Modi’in region.
She is a partner in developing and researching the I Can Succeed (ICS) program for preschools with Dr. Inna Katz Gold. She also leads the content development of ICS for elementary and middle schools and is a senior facilitator for training educational staffs.

Sawsan Massalha is a licensed educational psychologist and senior instructor and process manager of I Can Succeed (ICS).
While leading implementation of the I Can Succeed (ICS) program for elementary and middle schools in the Arab community, she has trained, counseled, and mentored psychologists and educators. She also oversees the translation and cultural adaption of the Arabic version of ICS.
In addition to her work at SEL.IL, she is the director of the educational psychology services in the Daliyat el-Karmil municipality. She has extensive experience working at educational psychology services for Israel’s Arab, Jewish, and Druze communities. Among other activities, she coordinated the preschool section of the educational psychology services in the Kafr Kari’ municipality for four years and led ongoing education programs for preschool teachers and aides on inclusivity and in the Learning and Living Together course of the Schwartz Program of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her areas of expertise also include evaluating the risk of suicide among children and youth. She earned a master’s degree in educational psychology at Yarmouk University in Jordan.

Dr. Netta Sagie earned a master’s degree in educational policy and administration and a Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University’s School of Education. Her work as a lecturer and researcher focuses on entrepreneurship in education, project management in education, and developing autonomy in the educational system. She is a partner in various processes to advance and encourage entrepreneurship in the educational system.
In addition, she is involved in initiating, developing, and leading educational projects in areas related to cultivating SEL skills. At the SEL.IL Center, she focuses on integrating SEL and entrepreneurship. She also has extensive experience as a commercial lawyer and mediator.

Noy Stein earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s degree in human-computer interaction at Reichman University. During her undergraduate studies, she focused a great deal on educational psychology, serving as a tutor in the I Can Succeed (ICS) program, among other activities. During her master’s degree studies, she focused on integrating technology into the educational experience at schools.
She is a partner in the design, development, and research of the ICS program with Dr. Daphne Kopelman-Rubin as well as a partner in the research and development of the SEL.box and SEL by Milgo projects.

Rony Lemel earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and business administration at Reichman University and currently is pursuing a master’s degree there in clinical psychology. Throughout her studies, she focused on research on attention at the university’s Media Innovation Lab (miLAB) and Communications, Aging and Neuropsychology Lab (CANlab). She has volunteered for five years at the Levzeler Residence (a home for adults with intellectual developmental disabilities/autism), directing its volunteer program for three years. She is responsible for the research processes on different projects at SEL.IL. She also is a partner in the research and content development for ICS for elementary and middle schools.

Heidi Gleit earned a BA in international relations at the University of Pennsylvania. She has many years of experience as a journalist, editor, and translator specializing in the art, culture, and history of the land of Israel. In addition to writing, editing, and translating, she is responsible for finances at the SEL.IL Center.

Dalia Halabi is a facilitator, researcher, and developer in the project to develop SEL and entrepreneurship in the town of Baka al-Gharbiya.
She is a graduate of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership and earned a master’s degree in conflict resolution and mediation from Tel Aviv University. She is writing her doctoral thesis on education and elites in Palestinian society in Israel at the University of Haifa. She is a lecturer at Oranim College and academic manager of the Flowers of the Negev program to make higher education accessible to Bedouins in southern Israel.
In the past, she was a lecturer and responsible for the academic guidance at Teach First Israel-Hotam, an educational-social leadership program, and served as the director of the Arab Center for Law and Policy-Dirasat.
