SEL.IL – Promoting Social-Emotional Learning in Israel is an applied research center at the Baruch Ivcher School of Psychology at Reichman University (formerly IDC Herzliya). Our goal is to promote the implementation of social-emotional learning (SEL) throughout the entire Israeli educational system. We believe that education’s role today is not merely to convey knowledge, but also to equip the next generation with social-emotional skills and competencies. This will enable young people to develop optimally and cope efficiently with the complex realities of a dynamic, changing world. To advance this challenging goal, we have been cooperating closely with the Israeli Ministry of Education, local authorities, and philanthropic funds for many years.

SEL.IL is the only academic center in Israel devoted to social-emotional learning that integrates research, development, training, implementation, and consulting services for policymakers. We believe that this distinctive combination of research and real-world activity facilitates mutual inspiration and learning, continual development, and relevance. We strictly maintain professional, research-based standards in all our activities.
There are many ways to promote social-emotional learning and it is important to consider the characteristics and needs of each educational framework in doing so.
